It Cosmetics vs. Thrive: CC Cream Comparison

I’ve been using It Cosmetics CC Cream for a couple years and I love it. It’s the best foundation I’ve ever used. When a friend of mine recommended Thrive Causemetics mascara, I perused their website and found that they have a similar CC cream that boasts the same benefits as It Cosmetics. Why would I try this one when I already have one I love? I was still curious. Maybe there’s something about this one that I would like even more? Plus, the teal bottle caught my eye 😉

I figured if I was wondering how these two compared, there might be someone else wondering as well. So I bought the Thrive CC cream and did a comparison. Below is a photo with no makeup, and another photo with half my face using Thrive and other half using It Cosmetics CC cream.

As you can see, both CC creams have a similar coverage and there is no clear winner at first glance. My first impressions when applying each cream are as follows.

Thrive Buildable Blur CC Cream™ Broad Spectrum SPF 35

  • Lighter, more liquid cream.
  • Strong sunscreen scent (not a huge fan of this).
  • Takes a little longer to absorb.
  • Has fantastic coverage once blended in!
  • Moisturizing but not oily.

It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream with SPF 50+

  • Thicker cream.
  • Very faint scent.
  • Absorbs quickly and feels nice.
  • Fantastic coverage!
  • Moisturizing but not oily.

While they are both great CC Creams, my first impression is that It Cosmetics is continuing its reign as my favorite. Now let’s look at the details.

Thrive

  • $38 for 32 mL bottle, but you can get it for $28 with my referral link!
  • For every bottle bought, Thrive Causemetics donates a bottle to help women thrive.
  • SPF 35, Active ingredients: Octinoxate 7%, Octisalate 4.5%, Titanium Dioxide 2.8%, Zinc Oxide 4.9%.
  • Comes in 18 different shades (I use Light).

It Cosmetics

  • $39 for 32 mL bottle, and you can get it for $35 with my referral link or by signing up for auto-replenish.
  • It Cosmetics as donated over $24 million in products to women with cancer.
  • SPF 50+, Active ingredients: Titanium Dioxide 9.0% Zinc Oxide 6.3%.
  • Comes in 12 different shades (I use Light).

Overall, I still like It Cosmetics’ CC cream the best! But Thrive’s CC cream would be a great alternative as well!

Have you tried either of these products? Do you have another CC cream or foundation that you love?
