Every year on Halloween, as long as the weather permits, we love to carve our pumpkins in the backyard. We set up our folding table and trash can, grab our simple pumpkin carving knife and scoop, and set to work. Nothing fancy, just some good family fun that the little kids can participate in as well! I help them draw a face on their pumpkin with a sharpie, and we take tons of pictures as we go!
I always love their reactions to the pumpkin guts!
We also wear festive halloween outfits all day before putting on our halloween costumes. Because they are so cute!!!
We celebrate Halloween and go trick or treating the Saturday before here in our town. It’s a fun day to spend together in the leaves and just enjoying being a family. We put our jack o lanterns on the front porch with tea lights inside, and all the trick or treaters can admire our handiwork 🙂
When I was little I remember my mom baking the pumpkin seeds, but I haven’t tried that yet. I have fond memories of that so I need to give it a try! Do you have any favorite Halloween traditions? I’d love to hear about them in the comments!
